Have you ever felt like you should be happy?
You have everything you could want. You have a good job, your health, a great relationship…. But you still feel like you’re not as happy as you could be! Are you going through the motions of every day, doing fine, but something is missing? There is something missing… perhaps you feel unfulfilled? Not as content as you thought you would be at this age? Or you have lost that spark that you used to have?
What would you say if you were asked…. Are you Happy?
For me, from the outside, it looked like I had it all and should be deliriously happy – but the outside didn’t match the inside. I was in my mid-thirties and it looked like I had everything. I had the family, the car, the overseas trips, the house, the dream job…. And yet I STILL WASN’T HAPPY!!!I was furious. I was sad. I was embarrassed. I couldn’t tell anyone that I was unhappy because, how could I admit to my family and friends that they weren’t enough to make me happy?
So I spent every waking moment dedicated to my own Happiness Project. I devoured every strategy, every book, and every conference, trained in Positive Psychology and completely changed my life…and guess what happened…. I AM HAPPY, not the sort of fleeting happy that a promo code on your next purchase gives you (although I do bloody love that)… a deep down in my belly happy, where I can smile for no good reason and skip because I feel like it.
So the moral of the story is – no matter who you are or what you are doing – you deserve to be happy without judgement, it takes work and practice but I got happy and I had a fabulous time doing it…… and you can too.

Getting Happy can feel overwhelming, selfish and quite frankly something that we expect, rather than something we put our time and energy into. But in my experience, happiness is something that you must apply focus and effort into so that it doesn’t become lost amongst the other tasks you put on your daily to-do list.
